Call for Tenders for the ECCOMAS Conference 2022

Warsaw and Eindhoven, January 10, 2019

The European Community on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences (ECCOMAS) invites institutions from all over Europe to present proposals for the organization of the ECCOMAS Congress 2022 (8th European Congress on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences and Engineering)[1]. The ECCOMAS Congress 2022 is a sequel to the successful previous ECCOMAS congresses in Brussels (1992), Paris (1996), Barcelona (2000), Jyväskylä (2004), Venice (2008), Vienna (2012), Crete (2016) and Paris (2020). For more information, please visit www.eccomas.org.

Institutions interested in organizing the ECCOMAS Congress 2022 are kindly requested to submit a proposal to the ECCOMAS Secretariat (eccomas@cimne.upc.edu) before April 30, 2019. Proposals must include the following information:

  • Conference Chairperson(s).
  • Organizing Committee.
  • Supporting Organizations.
  • Provisional overview of date and venue of the congress and facilities of the conference rooms (distance to main hotels and airports, equipment, etc.).
  • Advantages of organizing the congress at the proposed venue.
  • Tourist interests and hotel facilities.
  • Conference budget. Please note that for this congress, € 40,000 are payable to ECCOMAS. In return, a financial support of € 20,000 for ECCOMAS scholarships will be provided

The proposals will be evaluated by the Managing Board of ECCOMAS. A shortlist of selected candidates will be requested to present their proposals in person during the next Managing Board meeting, which will take place during the ECCOMAS Thematic Conference “Coupled Problems 2019” in Sitges (Barcelona) on June 2, 2019.

[1] Following the corresponding decision of the ECCOMAS Managing Board in 2018, the quadrennial ECCM-ECFD conference series has been merged with the ECCOMAS Congress series to form a biennial cycle of ECCOMAS Congresses. The ECCOMAS Congress in 2022 is the first in the new biennial cycle.
