Call for Tenders for the 2018 joint ECCOMAS Conferences

VI European Conference on Computational Solids, Structures, and Coupled Problems

(ECCM VI)

VII European Conference on Computational Fluid Dynamics

(ECFD VII)

Stuttgart and Vienna, January 10, 2015

Dear Colleague,

The European Community on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences (ECCOMAS) invites institutions from all over Europe to present proposals for the organization of the joint ECCOMAS Conferences, namely the VI European Conference on Computational Solids, Structures and Coupled Problems (ECCM VI) and the VII European Conference on Computational Fluid Dynamics (ECFD VII) in 2018.

Both, ECCM and ECFD series are organized in a four year cycle. In 2018 ECCOMAS will celebrate its 25th anniversary. For this reason the ECCOMAS Managing Board has decided that both conferences should be organized jointly at the same venue and at the same time, allowing a celebration of this anniversary with the entire ECCOMAS community.

Institutions interested in organizing ECCM VI and ECFD VII are kindly requested to submit a proposal to the ECCOMAS Secretariat () before March 15, 2015.

Proposals must include the following information:

  • Conference Chairperson(s).
  • Organizing Committee.
  • Supporting Organizations.
  • Date and venue of the Conferences and facilities of the conference rooms (distance to main hotels, equipment, etc.).
  • Advantages of organizing the Conference at the proposed venue.
  • Tourist interests and hotel facilities.
  • Conference budget.

Please note, that for each conference, ECFD VII and ECCM VI, € 20,000 have to be paid to ECCOMAS. In return, a financial support of € 10,000 for ECCOMAS scholarships will be provided for each conference.

The proposals will be evaluated by the Managing Board of ECCOMAS. A short list of selected candidates will be requested to present their proposals in person during the next Managing Board meeting, which will take place during the ECCOMAS Thematic Conference “Coupled Problems 2015” in Venice, on May 17, 2015.

Best regards,

Prof. Ekkehard Ramm                                             Prof. Josef Eberhardsteiner

President of ECCOMAS                                          Secretary of ECCOMAS
