ECCOMAS AWARDEES 2020
ECCOMAS proudly announces that the winners of the ECCOMAS Medals and the ECCOMAS Young Investigator awards 2020 have been selected. Nominations for the ECCOMAS awards are submitted by members of the ECCOMAS community. The final selection is carried out by an independent awards committee assembled specifically for this purpose, comprising the previous awardees of the ECCOMAS medals, the previous recipients of the young investigator awards, and representatives of the ECCOMAS technical committees.
The ECCOMAS Ritz-Galerkin medal has been awarded to Prof. Eugenio Oñate (UPC, CIMNE). The ECCOMAS Ritz-Galerkin Medal is the highest award given by ECCOMAS, honoring individuals who have made outstanding, sustained contributions in the field of computational methods in applied sciences over periods representing substantial portions of their professional career.
The ECCOMAS Euler medal has been awarded to Prof. Alessandro Reali (Università degli studi di Pavia). The Euler Medal is awarded for outstanding and sustained contributions to the area of computational solid and structural mechanics.
The ECCOMAS Prandtl medal medal has been awarded to Prof. Spencer Sherwin (Imperial College London) . The Prandtl Medal is awarded for outstanding and sustained contributions to the area of computational fluid dynamics.
The ECCOMAS Olgierd Cecil Zienkiewicz young-investigator award has been awarded to Prof. Stefanie Elgeti (TU Wien). The Olgierd Cecil Zienkiewicz award is awarded to young researchers with outstanding contributions in the field of Computational Engineering Sciences.
The ECCOMAS Jacques-Louis Lions young-investigator award has been awarded to Prof. Paola Antonietti (Politecnico di Milano). The Jacques-Louis Lions award is awarded to young researchers with outstanding contributions in the field of Computational Mathematics.
